Preparing for Peak Oil: Local Authorities and the Energy Crisis - a new report from ODAC

The Oil Depletion Analysis Centre (ODAC), an independent, UK-registered educational charity working to raise international public awareness and promote better understanding of the world's oil-depletion problem, has prepared a new report aimed specifically at local government in the UK.

The report says: "There are a great many things that councils must do, and policies that need to be changed, if we are to have any chance of mitigating the economic effects of peak oil. On the plus side, some of these initiatives already exist (recycling, road pricing, etc.) but these efforts need to be significantly expanded, and there remain entire areas of policy that have yet to be addressed... "

Printed copies of the report can be ordered, free of charge, from ODAC for members of local government and Councillors.

It can be downloaded here: Preparing for Peak Oil: Local Authorities and the Energy Crisis (PDF, 2647 Kb)
